Crack pipe at any price. Those things were terrible, even by Ford standards.

If you take the 1 off the price, and the 0.

Not even at -$1650! POS eats alternators.

Hey, I want to join one of these dammit(and about any other older Ford car). However it is about $1000-$1300 too much.

Were you possessed by FordTempoFanatic while writing this post? Are you ok? DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW? HOW MANY FINGERS AM I HOLDING UP?

They may have been poorly built, but at least they were also unreliable.

That line always makes me laugh. My dad used to say that about Wake Forest football.
“We may be small, but at least we’re slow.”

THE TEMPO SUCKS.
THE MERCURY TOPAZ IS A MUCH BETTER CAR!!!

That’s actually a relatively rare AWD one.
And with the AWD, came the High Specific Output engine... which made 100hp instead of the 98hp you got in the High Swirl Combustion base engine.

Only overpriced by $1600. Lots of room for negotiation.

Or add a minus sign. I’d take one, but only if you paid me $1650.

I wonder why it eats alternators?

Had one in college (late ‘90's). Alternator dies. Replaced. Fails less than 2 months later. Replaced under warranty. A few months later I’m home preparing for job interview. Get in the car to start it up. Won’t start. Alternator fails again. And the shop that did it was almost 4 hours away. And it was out of warranty.
This was all in less than a year. Haven’t owned a Ford since.

I had driven a Ford lately, and I knew what I was missing. Sitting at the side of the road waiting for a tow.
